Inter College Competition on 2nd March, 2012

B.Sc.(N)1st year 14 Students participated in various intercollege Competitions organized by RBCE(Mohali cam[us) on 2nd March, 2012. In quiz Mr. Deepak, Mr. Vinod & Ms. Gursharan bagged a trophy as 1st prize. Ramanpreet, Pardeep kaur participated in Poster Competition & bagged a trophy as 3rd & 2nd prize respectively. Khushboo bagged a trophy as 2nd prize in slogan writing. Students also participated in other competitions like Short story, Debate, Poetry & Thinker's Hub Challenges. Dr. Prem Verma Principal RBCN CONGRATULATED the students & gave best wishes for future activities.

World Cancer Day on 4th Feb, 2012

World Cancer Day was observed by RBCN by organizing awareness program in Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Kurali about 200 students from Senior classes participated in the seminar, whose knowledge about AIDS adjudged through questionnaire. Dr. Prem Verma Principal, RBCN threw light on theme of Cancer Day. Various aspects of cancer i.e. Causes, Sign & Symptoms & prevention of Cancer were discussed with the audience. Students of B.Sc. (N) 1st year presented a role play on Lung Cancer & B.Sc. (N) 2nd year provided Health Teaching to the students & teachers. Principal Khalsa school appreciated the efforts made by RBCN in bringing cancer awareness in their students and teachers.

World AIDS Day on 1ST Dec,2011

RBCN organized a seminar on AIDS in Government Senior Secondary School, Sahauran under the guidance of Dr. Prem Verma, Principal RBCN, who stressed upon the need to modify social malpractice to minimize menace of deadly disease i.e. AIDS. Mrs. Renu, lecturer threw light on the Theme of World's AIDS Day. Mrs. Kimmy provided knowledge on Sign & Symptoms & Causes of AIDS. Ms. Amandeep emphasized on preventive measures. Mr. Rashpal Singh thanked the principal & faculty of RBCN for bringing awareness for AIDS in their students & faculty.

Fresher's party(CRUZE) on 26th Nov, 2011

Welcome party was organized for freshers in B.Sc.(N) 1st students 2011-12 at college premises. Our Honorable Chief Guests S. Gurvinder Singh Bahra & Mam Mrs. Manjit Kaur Bahra Congratulated the Freshers & welcomed them in Rayat Bahra family.

B.Sc.(N)2nd year students anchored the whole programme. B.Sc.(N)1st year also performed a variety of items like solo dance, singing, group dance, bhangra, gidha, B.Sc(N)2nd year performed a lively group dance. Modeling was conducted in 3 rounds. Mr. Shoyeb Vice Principal of RBIP & Mrs. Poonam Lecturer RBCN were judges for the selection of Ms. & Mr. Fresher. Dr. Prem Verma, Principal RBCN motivated students for their all round development with future participations, she appreciated the students for their lively performances.

State level "SNA Conference" on 23rd and 24th Sept, 2011

It was held in Guru Ram Das College of Nursing, Amritsar. Students of B.Sc. Nursing 2nd year participated in Rangoli & Poster competition. All of them also participated in folk dance.

Orientation Program for the session 2011-12(B.Sc.(N) 1st years on 5th Sep, 2011

Students were welcomed by the Principal RBCN. They were made familiar with different Colleges of Rayat Bahra Group of Institutes at Mohali Campus. They were introduced with Chief warden Mrs. Sarbjit Kaur and Mess Incharge Mr. Sokhi students were apprised about RBCN policies, rules & regulations. Faculty discussed about their subjects.

International Breast Feeding Week on 6th August, 2011 at VPO Sahauran(Mohali)

Seminar on Breast feeding was organized in Baniyaan Di Dharamshala, Vill Sahauran under the guidance & direction of Dr. Prem Verma Principal RBCN who apprised the families for their valuable responsibilities to practice Breast feeding to their new born to make them healthy children of the society. Faculty RBCN delivered lectures on the importance and uses of Breast Feeding. They demonstrated about the techniques and positions of Breast Feeding with the help of baby dummy. S.Karnail Singh, Sarpanch and S. Kirpal Singh (Ex Sarpanch) thanked Dr. Prem Verma for imparting valuable knowledge to the lactating mothers , their family members and other villagers.

International Nurse's week (12-18th)May,2011 inauguration on 12th May followed by Session on "Hand Washing Technique" on 18th May, 2011

RBCN organized a Session of "Hand Washing Technique" for the students & teachers at Government Senior Secondary School, Sahauran. faculty delivered a lectures on Jaundice, Cholera and Environmental Sanitation and its prevention and also demonstrated the techniques of hand washing to the students and the teachers. Students also performed returned demonstrations. Mr. Rashpal Singh Principal Government Senior Secondary School, Sahauran thanked Dr. Prem Verma for educating their students for proper hand washing to keep the diseases at distance.

A small get together was organized under the guidance of Dr. Prem Verma Director-Principal RBCN. Ma'am welcomed and honoured the chief guest Dr. Paramjit Singh Director-Principal RBDC and Dr. Keshav Sharma Campus Director. Ma'am highlighted the achievement of Florence Nightingale. Ms. Radha Saini Vice-Principal RBCN thanked the guests for contributing to the function.

International Tuberculosis Day on 24th March, 2011

Staff and students of RBCN participated on Tuberculosis Day organized by Mohali Distt. Unit of Voluntary Health Association of India, New Delhi at Gian Jyoti Management College Phase-2 Mohali. A lively role play was staged by our staff and students and bagged a Trophy as 3rd prize. It carried a message for responsibility of each one in the society to get awareness for early Diagnosis, Treatment and strong emphasis on its prevention.

World Cancer Day on 4th Feb, 2011

World Cancer Day was celebrated with great fervor by staff and students under the directions & guidance of Dr. ( Mrs.) Prem Verma , Director- Principal of Rayat - Bahra College of Nursing, Mohali Campus in Village Saharuran, near Kharar (Punjab) . The theme of the function was "Early DETECTION WAY TO HEALTHY LIFE". Students and Staff presented with a very lively role play to the audience comprising of school students, women & others emphasizing the importance of early detection and cancer prevention. An exhibition of posters was also displayed by faculty members & students of Rayat-Bahra College of Nursing. Director-Principal of Nursing College stressed on the need of Breast Self Examination (BSE) by women. Presiding over the function Mr Rashpal Singh, Principal of Govt. Senior Secondary School, Sahauran advised students and village community for inculcation of healthy life style and eating patterns so as to minimize the cancer risk. Dr. Keshav Sharma, Campus Director, &Lt. Gen Dr. Paramjit Singh , Director-Principal, Rayat - Bahra Dental College & Hospital, Mohali Campus , applauded the efforts and hard work of Director-Principal of Rayat - Bahra College of Nursing, Mohali Campus for generating mass awareness about early detection and prevention of Cancer.

Seminar on 16th March, 2011 at Mohali Campus

One day National Seminar on "ADOLESCENT DEPRESSION AND CORPORAL PUNISHMENT: A HOLISTIC PERSPECTIVE" partially funded by Indian Council of Medical Research ( ICMR), New Delhi was organized under the able and dynamic leadership of Dr. ( Mrs.) Prem Verma, Director- Principal of Rayat - Bahra College of Nursing, VPO Sahauran Tehsil: Kharar Distt. Mohali. Dr. Prem Kumar , Executive Director of Rayat –Bahra Group of Institutes presided over the function as Chief Guest. While unfolding the theme he advised students to respect their worthy teachers and follow the path shown by our Great Freedom fighters and Dr. Sarvpali Radha Krishan, the 2nd president of independence India. Eminent speakers included Dr. (Mrs.) Karobi Das from NINE, PGIMER, Chandigarh, who spoke on Adolescent Mental Health and Depression. Ms. Radha Saini , International Oncology Nursing Fellow from UICC Geneva laid emphasis on the causes and Issues of Corporal Punishment . Her speech focused on spiritual and harmonious teacher taught relationship with emphasis on overall personality development of child. Dr. Naresh Nebhenani from PGIMER focused on familial, Societal and school based intervention to prevent adolescent depression and suicide. Dr. Keshav Sharma Campus Director of RBGI, Mohali Campus. Applauded the efforts of Rayat-Bahra College of Nursing, Mohali Campus in organizing this mega event.

A National Seminar was organized by Rayat - Bahra College of Nursing, VPO Sahauran, Mohali Campus partially sponsored by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi on "ADOLESCENT DEPRESSION AND CORPORAL PUNISHMENT: A HOLISTIC PERSPECTIVE" at Central Library, Patiala on 19th February, 2011. Dr. (Mrs.) Prem Verma, Director –Principal of the college , while welcoming the Chief Guest and audience emphasized on individual and joint responsibility at family, school & society level to create harmonius relationship to nurture the young buds emotionally mature so as to help the adolescents to minimize depression . Prof S.R Sahni, Administrator M and M Campus, Sangrur, while unfolding the theme as Chief Guest stressed upon the need for developing repeated interactions between the parents , teachers & students to avoid depression and also applauded the efforts of the organizers in this event. Ms. Radha Saini, International Oncology Nursing Fellow from UICC Geneva highlighted physical & psychological characteristics in adolescent period & also discussed the issues related to Corporal Punishment & techniques to prevent this. Ms. Amanpreet Kaur, Reader, Khala College of Amritsar focused on the role of an individual, family, Society and school to prevent adolescent depression and suicide. A lively role play by students & faculty depicted the responsibility of students, teachers and parents to minimize depression in adolescents.


Orientation Program on 26 Oct, 2010

Students of B.Sc. Nursing 1st year were oriented to different colleges of Rayat Bahra Group of Institutes i.e. Law College, Pharmacy, Hotel Management, Dental, Engineering & B.Ed. College & Girls Hostel of Rayat Bahra Group of Institutes , Mohali Campus. They were made familiar with Mess and Tuck shops.

National Flag day on 25th Nov, 2010

Students Rayat Bahra College of Nursing have participated in essay writing i.e. COMMUNAL HARMONY COMPAIGN and POSTER COMPETITION. The stickers were sold and money was also collected from the students and others in the sealed plastic box. Total collection of Rs. 800/- was made and has been sent to Secretary National Foundation for Communal Harmony, New Delhi.

A small get together was organized by Dr. Prem Verma Director-Principal of Rayat Bahra College of Nursing, Mohali Campus. Students participated in funning games and presented folk dance.

New year and Lohri celebration on 13th Jan, 2011

The bonfire was lit in the college. Tie, peanuts, pop corns were put into the fire. Students participated in games. Dr. Prem Verma Ma'am offered gachachak, gur, moongphali to the students & staff.

SNA Registration of the students of B.sc {N} 1st year on 22nd Jan.,2011

SNA membership Fee for the year 2010 along with three application forms For Annual Membership were sent to Trained Nurse's Association of India, New Delhi for originating SNA unit at RBCN, Mohali.
